Transportation during the flood: Boat!

Many Manitoban's (Winnipegers) have been affected by this years flood. With both the Red River and Assiniboine river flooding simultaneously, we've had to boat in out of the office this week.

D' Native

D'NATIVE

Dual backless bench or low table in front hinged, whose character traits are unique, different and original. Formal and compositional versatility from the fragmentation of unique pieces of native timber disposal (Lapacho, locust, mulberry, urunday)

Grand Chaco

Grand Chaco

GRAN CHACO

Gran Chaco articulated low table, groups several pieces of native wood discarded from cutting boards (quebracho, lapacho, urunday, vinal, algarrobo, espina corona, guayacán, etc.) from sawmills and carpentry achieving  a unified, unique and original configuration. The articulation of this system allows different configurations according to the type of use and the number of users. One of its peculiarities is the possibility of being placed individually or in groups, adapting to any space. This is a design developed for clean production, and a new use of discarded materials.

What would you build with waste materials if you could?

Twin brothers Jason and Lars Dressler of  Brothers Dressler are Canadian wood designers based in Toronto. Utilizing salvaged objects, materials and waste streams their usage efforts are to use renewable resources and supplies sharing the same commitments.

There really is anything to dislike about these guys! Knowing their philosophies and craftsmanship there's no reason to dislike their work.  Have a look!

Heart Felt Cage

Heart Felt Cage
One of my faves, the Heart Felt Cage utilizes a reclaimed conveyor belt apron with a Birch wood skeleton.

13-pounds table
This cool design is balanced by century-old window sash weights with a solid reclaimed wood slab.

Onedge Rocker

Onedge lounge + Ottoman

The Onedge Lounge + Ottoman was the first piece that caught my eye! So swank! The repeated elements are bolted together with no use of adhesives. This series utilizes plywood on its edge creating the form and structure designed for comfort.

Uvula

The Uvula is a multi-functional chair/stool/side table composed of an inner skeleton with veneer skin.
